Résumé/Présentation "The Democratic Republic of Congo has a long history of violence and poverty. Throughout the last five centuries, the country has experienced very few moments of peace. Starting with early colonization and continuing to the present wars raging in the eastern provinces, the Congo is a society that has been ripped apart and, in the wake of turmoil and destruction, left searching for someone to blame. Many people have turned to children as the reason for the misfortunes experienced; accusations of child witchcraft in the DRC have risen in the last decade. Whereas women and the elderly have traditionally been the accused, children have become the new target."
